Boo Pourciau Boo Pourciau

Boo Pourciau started playing drums when he was just a young boy. Not having the money for a real set of drums, his father would bring home different-sized barrels that were used in the plant where he worked on the Mississippi River. This began the obsession he holds in himself to this day.

By the time he was 11 years old, Boo was sneaking into bars just to sit behind a real set of drums. One place that he will always remember was an old club & restaurant on the bayou called The End of the World, where they put a microphone in front of him and told him to sing. That's when the soulful wail began to come out. When Boo reached 14, his career took off. Performing with a popular group named the Luv Rakers, he toured with the likes of the Vanilla Fudge, Grass Roots, Zombies, and many other 60s & 70s groups.

Through the years, he has played with local musicians Tereva Henderson, G.G. Shin, Floyd Brown, Bobby Henderson, Lee Tillman & Reunion, and TK Hullin. He has also played in groups such as Dixie Jax, Night Timers, Leon Medica & Friends, The Buddy Roy Band, Tommy French, the late Ronnie Brumbley & Fox Fire, Tommy Scott, The Factory. The Delta Fright, and Tom Cat.

He also has had the honor to perform with John Fred and The Playboys, Big Luther Kent, Duke Bardwell, Clarence "Frog Man" Henry, and Percy Sledge. Boo has his own recording studio now and does numerous studio sessions in the area. He also has his hands in some productions. His production company is called BooP Music.
